Vidar Lunden

In the early ninety’s, as a young man, Vidar Lunden was recording some songs he had written. The songs were instrumental, and with a background in playing classical guitar, piano and bass the goal was to play all instruments himself - except from some help from his friend Leif Christian Ovesen on drums on two of the tracks. And he also engineered, mixed and mastered the album himself. The process was the early stage of Lunden’s later on career in music as a studio-owner, sound-engineer and producer, with hundreds of recordings on his CV.

The recordings in the early ninty’s was done on analogue tape with very few possibilities to edit, and quite another way of working with the recording and mixing-process than nowadays where you have a whole arsenal of plugins, digital editing-tools and so on…

For different reasons he never released these songs all those years ago. But listening to them in more recent years he felt it was a waste not to release the tracks as a retrospective and historical document, as an EP. The album is a historic picture of it’s time.
